Back for the third year running…come and join us for dinner and a round of golf.
The event begins on Sunday 16th August with an informal and relaxed Reception and Gala Dinner, cooked by chefs from Mandarin Oriental, London. Practice rounds of golf are available during the afternoon.
On Monday 17th August, enjoy a full buffet breakfast, followed by 18 holes of golf with a celebrity. Full lunch is also provided.
Reflecting the current financial climate, we have taken the decision to reduce the price per team of three to £1,000, though the Gala Dinner and golf on offer remain to the same high standards as previous years.
Please join our sponsored walk through Windsor Great Park on Sunday May 10th 2009.
There are 3 routes of varying difficulties – 6, 10 or 16 kilometres.
Setting off from the Blacknest carpark, the start times are:
6km – 10.15am
10km – 10.00am
16km – 9.45am
We’re working on making it a fantastic day out for everyone — including face painting and photographic competitions for kids. We’re providing a barbeque lunch following the walk. And, for the botanists among you: the rhododendron garden is apparently at its absolute best in May!
For individuals, registration is £10; for families, it’s £20. This will cover our costs — every pound raised through sponsorship will go directly to the scientists we’re backing.

Would anyone be interested in doing a London to Paris Triathlon in June…?
Start with a 1 km swim in London’s Hyde Park Serpentine followed by a 10 km run in Hyde Park on Friday morning. Competitors are then taken to Paris by Eurostar and the next day complete the 80 kilometre cycle stage. The event is concluded by a gala evening in the Euro Disney complex. The return to London is on Sunday.
We are arranging, in association with our fellow charity AAT (The Aplastic Anaemia Trust), a Sponsored Walk through the beautiful Windsor Great Park on Sunday 10th May 2009. The walk will be wheelchair friendly, with 3 different routes of varying lengths and difficulties - 6, 10 or 15 kilometres.
There will be a £10 entry fee, which will cover our costs, and then we ask you to raise as much money as possible through Sponsorship.
Gary Lineker’s family has been deeply affected by spinal injury. Here, he tells the story, and explains why he backs the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation. He also describes just how easy it is to get involved.
BBC Security Correspondent Frank Gardner knows spinal injury first-hand. While filming in Saudi Arabia in 2004, he and his crew were ambushed by Al-Qaeda terrorists. His cameraman, Simon Cumbers, was killed. Frank, shot six times, was left paraplegic from wounds to the lower spine. After 12 operations, he has returned to his full-time job at the BBC. Although based in a wheelchair, he still reports from the field and has resumed skiing and scuba diving without the use of his legs. An expert on the Middle East, he is a highly respected journalist, was voted Person of the Year by the UK Press Review and awarded an OBE by HM the Queen in 2005. Here, Frank gives insight into the challenges of daily life with spinal injury, and explains why he supports the NSIF. Video length: 3m36s.
