British Lions legends launch fundraising partnership with the Christopher Tickle Fund

While they never met on the rugby field, British Lions legends Bill Beaumont and Ieuan Evans have come together to launch the official link-up of the Christopher Tickle Fund with The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation.

The Fund was founded by the family of Christopher Tickle, a highly popular  rugby player at Eccles Rugby Club, after he suffered a serious neck injury when a scrum collapsed and later died in hospital in October 2009.

On Monday, 24th May 2010, former England captain Bill Beaumont presented  a £17,000 cheque on behalf of the Christopher Tickle Fund to the former captain of Wales, Ieuan Evans, who accepted the cheque in his role as a Patron of the Foundation.

Saud Ieuan “We are very grateful to the Christopher Tickle Fund for supporting The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation to help those who, like Christopher, suffer such terrible spine and neck injuries”
